There are some major but positive changes to how families register for the 2025/2026 season and this has come from Little Athletics Australia.
Registrations will now be completed in the new Sport:80 membership platform – there will be more information to come on this system.
The New Process
When an athlete registers in Sport:80, they will be automatically assigned their new bib number. This number will range from 101 to 99999. There will be no opportunity to select a number, and this number will be unique across the whole of Queensland. Bibs will be individually posted to an athlete’s registered home address. This process is expected to take up to 3 weeks, depending on which day you register.
You will also receive a welcome letter from Little Athletics Queensland advising parents on how to affix the bib to their child’s uniform, which can be done however you wish, including safety pins, being sewed on, Velcro tabs, or any other suitable method.
Prior to a bib arriving, athletes can simply write their number on their arm (like triathlon), or on a piece of paper attached to their top to allow recorders to still record their results at a meet.
No More Age Patches
Another change that has been implemented is the inclusion of the age group directly on the bib. This removes the need for the separate age patch.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will this change be implemented?
This change will begin with the Winter 2025 season. The current (old) bibs and age patches will still be required up to and including the 2025 McDonald’s State Championships held next month.
How do I order a second, or replacement bib?
Families can self-manage the ordering of replacement bibs through their Sport:80 member portal: Replacement bibs will cost $5 which will be paid at the time of ordering.
What size are the bibs? I need a smaller bib for a crop top.
All bibs are the now the same size and are designed to fit on the smallest tops for our youngest athletes.
What do the new bibs look like?

Some of our athletes have already kept their numbers for multiple seasons, why can’t they keep them?
Currently, athlete numbers are duplicated across each Centre in Queensland (e.g. every Centre has an athlete with bib #1). Under the new system, all athletes have a unique number. It would not be possible, nor practical to decide which athletes get to retain their number, and which ones are forced to change. The new numbers are also automatically generated by Sport:80 with no flow-through from our old system.
Will athletes get a new bib each season?
Yes. While the number will remain the same, a new bib will be posted out each season, including the athlete’s new age group. This change helps to ensure sponsor requirements are met, while also allowing new improvements to be implemented on a consistent basis.
